    Nativity Evangelical Lutheran Church

Nativity Evangelical Lutheran Church is a member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. We service the community of St. Charles and the surrounding area. We worship on Sunday at 10am. We believe what the Bible says about Jesus and what Jesus says about you. God loves you and comes to you in Word and Sacrament.

    Glimpses of Our Ministry

      Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Office@Nativity-StCharles.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Nativity is the word used for God sending His Son, Jesus, to be born into our world to save sinners.  We celebrate this festival of nativity on December 25 of each year.  The gift of God's salvation in Christ extends to every day of the year.

Our German roots take us back to the Reformation and the great reformer Martin Luther. While we do not worship Luther or even hold all his writings in high regard, the basics of what we believe are summarized in Luther's Small Catechism. Which is a part of a larger confession of the Church called the Book of Concord, to which we subscribe.

You may have also heard of us as "LCMS".  It means that we walk with other churches around the world in what we believe, teach and confess.  To learn more about the LCMS, click here.

      About Nativity

      Visitors to Divine Service

Worship at Nativity is blended. On occasion hymns will be sung with guitar or with pre-recorded music. We project all our worship elements on a video screen. Printed bulletins are available.  You can expect to hear the love of God in Jesus Christ through our liturgy and preaching. We welcome you to come and worship "as you are".  There is no standing on dress code in worship.

Nativity offers Holy Communion on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month.  The Missouri Synod practices Close Communion.

Nativity celebrates Communion with the firm belief that Jesus Christ is truly present with His body and blood as believers receive the bread and the wine. (1 Corinthians 11:23-27)

This body and blood of Christ are for the forgiveness of our sins and to strengthen us in our relationship with Him and to bring us together in unity of belief with one another.

We celebrate communion 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays. And on church festivals.  Before participating in Communion we believe it is necessary to examine ourselves spiritually.(1Corinthians 11:28)

Please review this self–evaluation when preparing for the Lord’s Supper.

Have I been baptized?  Do I repent of my sins?  Do I believe Jesus Christ is my Savior?  Do I believe Christ’s body and blood are truly present in this Sacrament?   Do you sincerely intend to amend your life with the aid of God’s power?

Nativity welcomes all confirmed LCMS members who believe these truths, (1 Corinthians 10:17,   Romans 16:17-18, 2 John 10-11, Ephesians  4:4-6) to join in this sacred meal!

Guests that are not confirmed or in good standing with the LCMS or a church that the LCMS is in Pulpit and Altar Fellowship with are welcome at the communion area for a blessing.  Please come up with everyone else when your row is excused by an usher, fold your hands, and bow your head when you are approached by those who are serving.

      Pastoral Care

If you have any spiritual or pastoral needs, please don't hesitate to reach out to Pastor Jones. He's available for pre-surgery and hospital devotions, individual Communion, and family devotions upon request. Simply call the church office to schedule a visit.

Monthly pastoral visits, often with Holy Communion, are available with Pastor Jones. Please contact the church office to schedule a visit.

For members facing surgery, an accident, hospitalization, or the loss of a loved one, please notify the church office. This helps us ensure Pastor is aware of your needs and can offer support during this difficult time. We understand that hospitals may not always inform us of admissions, so your proactive communication is greatly appreciated.
